I recently replaced my water filter under the sink with brita water filter. It’s super easy to install and works exactly as advertised.
Unlike most water filters, brita does not contain a bacteria filter but instead uses a molecular sieve, which is one of the most efficient and effective water filters out there. It’s a little more expensive, but worth it in my opinion. In addition to being super easy to install, it is also extremely safe and effective.
While I don’t think you need to replace your water filter every 6 months, it is a good idea to clean it every once in a while to remove any stubborn buildup.

The brita water filter is a great idea, but I do not recommend it for people with children or pets. The chlorine is a no-no and the chlorine is not what makes it work. It is what causes the chlorine to break down into the harmful compounds we all know and love.
I am not sure why people get into the habit of putting chlorine in water for pets. It is a no-no. It does not disinfect pets, it does not kill bacteria, and it causes your pets to be sick or just not go to sleep.
It’s a no-no because it takes away the taste of water, it does not disinfect, and because it’s a no-no for pets, it’s a no-no for people. If you keep your pets on a regular schedule, you can have them water-free all year long just by using the brita water filter.
