If you’re like most people, you probably don’t know much about car washing. If you do, however, you’ll likely know someone who has used the technology to clean their cars. I know that water that has a pH of 6.0 is supposed to be soft, but most people are under the impression that higher pH water is meant to remove chlorine and chemical pollutants. Of course, this water is actually harder to filter, so it doesn’t really matter.
I think that car washes are the only situation where most people would say that pH is a good indicator of water hardness. They dont really get it. Hard water is the worst water for cars, which is why they use so much water. As a matter of fact, the pH of hard water is typically measured in the range of 7.0 to 7.2, which is the same as the pH of the ocean. Water that is hard is what you would get from a car wash.
