My wife thinks I’m crazy for wanting to buy a charcoal filter for my microwave. But I’m just telling you what I think about it, so here goes.
It’s a question of “do you want to watch a couple of videos, or do you want to get some popcorn, or do you want to read a book and watch some videos?” The answer really depends on how you want to use your microwave.
I would rather have my microwave like this now than not having it at all. Now I can use my microwave with the heat turned off, so I can use it when I really, really want to. Its not a bad idea to have your microwave set for the lowest power setting to help avoid the microwave explosion. In fact, I have it set to 90% power, which is usually the highest setting.
I would also recommend leaving the heat on since microwaves don’t explode very often in my experience. But I guess the heat is probably a nice touch and it’s easier to do than trying to heat your whole microwave.
In short, the charcoal filter for microwave is a nice upgrade to the last microwave I bought. It’s a pretty straightforward idea and there’s no reason to hide it or otherwise prevent it from working. It just looks like a very good idea and not a “thing” to hide.
