A great video from the Chicago TV station WBEZ recently featured the Chicago Department of Buildings (CDB) and the Chicago Department of Public Works (CDPUW) inspecting a home to see if its ducts were properly maintained. They determined that the pipes in the home were not properly maintained, and that the ducts were leaking into the exterior of the home. This meant that if the ducts were not properly maintained, the home could be left unlivable in the winter.
