I have a garden that is a bit of a mess. I’d say about half of the vegetables that I grow are already in water, and the other half of them are in the garden, but I’d like to find a way to make it easier to get some of them to the surface. I’m talking about a water filter.
In the case of your garden, the water filter isn’t actually going to remove all the water you’re pulling from your pipes, but if you’re a gardener like me it’s a good way to get some of that water back to your plants.
I dont know where you live, but if you live in the desert, youve probably already used a garden water filter. They dont work well, but if you happen to find one somewhere nearby, you should go for it.
The only problem with these garden water filters is that they are so damn expensive. The water filter that I have (a simple, hand-powered one) costs around $250, and I imagine that the ones that are more expensive are even more expensive. I think the cheapest one that you can buy is around $500, and you can get it at any garden center. Thats about $150 for the whole thing, not including the filter and the pump.
This is an expensive way to clean out your house, but it works well and saves you money. I use mine twice a week and have been very happy with the results. The main problem with these is that they are also quite large. On my own small apartment, I find myself with a bunch of kitchen space that I think that I could use for other things that are more decorative.
I can’t say they’re beautiful or anything, but they are functional. They’re not cheap, but they are very utilitarian. They’re also good for plants. They don’t have any added features to them, so they aren’t going to make your plants grow faster, but they are also quite easy to clean out and add a little more storage space.
A few years ago I bought myself a garden water filter. It’s a simple, but very effective, setup. Basically, it’s a small plastic bucket with a water-permeable lid. The bucket is then placed on top of a plastic plant pot. It’s basically a water-based pail that you fill with water from a tap, then place the bucket on top of the pot to filter water. What you’re left with, is a bucket of purified water.
Once in the garden, its easy to get rid of it to make room for more plants, or to give yourself a little more storage space. Its a great way to get rid of the extra weight of a water filter, although its not quite as efficient as getting a big water filter for your bathroom sink.
It’s probably not the best idea to keep that on your kitchen table. But what the hell, its a great idea. You can get a gallon container or two to keep it on your desk or counter. I find it easier to get rid of a little weight than a big water filter itself.
I use the garden water filter for my shower. Its really light, easy to carry around, and there is a lot of room for plants and flowers. Plus it makes a great bathroom sink faucet faucet.
