We had to order a hard water hose filter. I was surprised how heavy and bulky it is, but we are using it for the most part for our garden. I am not sure if we will need to purchase another one for our pool.

It will tell you that the filter will cause certain chemicals in your tank to become toxic, so read the instructions carefully, and if you have a hard water tank, you will need to keep the chemicals away from the tank. The chemicals will also be toxic if you put soap in the tank, as they will be dissolved in the water.
You can also use a hard water filter at home, but I can’t imagine anyone using one in their homes. It’s not an effective way to clean your tank, and you’re basically just leaving chemicals in there to kill bacteria.
