I have to admit, I am still waiting to see the new fridge filter. I heard they dropped some kind of new filter in a couple of stores I was in, but I was too lazy to look at it. I also heard they used to change the filter every day, but never seemed to have any new ones.
I know the old filters were made by the manufacturer, so they were probably brand new. However, I am not sure about that. I know I saw a can of it online at some point last year. One was definitely new. I also know that the filter was probably only about ten years old, which means it probably wasn’t used for at least that long. I don’t know for sure.
Here is a small selection of brands that I know of, but nothing definitive. I am not a fan of the generic label, though. The old brands are, to me, the best for the price. If you can find them at a good price, you should get them, unless you still insist on buying generic filters.

It’s not always a bad idea to replace the filter, but if it is a frequent thing, it’s a good idea.
