We just wanted to share this with anyone who might have the same problem as us, and also provide an alternative to the filter replacement tips found on many other websites. To prevent the filter from tearing apart, you could also try using the old filter to “stain” it, something you can do with a paint brush. This will have the added benefit of not needing to replace the filter ever and, more importantly, you should be able to remove the stain without having to clean the filter either.
In the end, I think it comes down to the person who wants to use this feature and their knowledge of how to change the filter, just like the person who has the problem of tearing off the filter will need a lot more knowledge of how to stain the filter than will be required to fix it.
I know that this is an old thread, but how to change the filter in the Samsung fridge. This is one of those things that should be a breeze. It would be much easier if we didn’t have to worry about changing a filter on a fridge but that’s not the case in my opinion.
