This is not the first time Ive heard of plastic water filters, but it is the first time Ive heard of plastic water filters being used in places that are completely non-recyclable or in places that have recycling restrictions. The plastic water filters we see in the trailer look pretty nice, but the real problem is that they are made of plastic, which is also dangerous to the environment.
The second problem is that plastic is usually considered “non-biodegradable” because nature is not perfect, and will eventually find a way to break it down. That is why the water filters we see in the trailer look so nice. The problem is that because they are made of plastic and not food grade glass, they will break down and eventually be thrown away.
We can make a case that plastic is toxic and that it has no place in our society. However, we need to also consider that plastic is incredibly, incredibly, ridiculously cheap compared to glass and paper. The cheapest filter pitcher on the market is probably $20.

And as you see from the video, we’re not in a position to make plastic to use in our lives. We need to get our plastic out of our bodies.
