This is the Galaxy S5’s built-in filter, which blocks out anything that’s too bright, to prevent you from seeing the screen as well as the whole front. It also helps block out the light behind the LCD screen, which is helpful in the daytime.
This is something I always wonder about.
The Samsung Galaxy S5S will have a dedicated filter for the front, but I don’t think there’s anything that can stop the light that comes with the LCD from shining through the screen at all.
For some reason it seems like the Samsung Galaxy S5S has a filter for the screen on the front, but I don’t know how that works. It does seem like it would block the light, but not the light behind the screen. If it did, it would block out the whole front and also the light behind the screen.
So how does it work? Well it seems like the Galaxy S5S is just not designed to be able to block light from behind the screen. That makes sense, because the LCD (an IPS panel) is supposed to use a lot less power. So the Galaxy S5S is probably not designed to be able to block light from behind the LCD, or at least not the same way it would be if the S5S had a dedicated filter.
Samsung has been using a special type of LCD display called “Active Pixel”, which means it uses more power but also has a special filter to isolate backlight. Samsung’s new Galaxy S5S, however, is actually a 5.5” LCD panel with an IPS panel instead of an active pixel. Samsung seems to be using a special filter to block light behind the screen in the Galaxy S5S.
Samsung also claims that the Galaxy S5S has a “better” contrast ratio than its predecessors, but that’s not really a fair comparison because the Galaxy S5 has a dual-pixel CMOS sensor that is more sensitive than the single-pixel CMOS found in the Galaxy S5S. It’s possible that the Galaxy S5S has a better contrast ratio, but we’re not sure.
The Galaxy S5S has an S-LCD panel instead of an LCD panel. Samsung claims that the Galaxy S5S has a more powerful processor, a faster camera, and a larger screen than the Galaxy S5. That’s not really a fair comparison because the Galaxy S5 has a dual-pixel CMOS sensor that is more sensitive than the single-pixel CMOS found in the Galaxy S5S.

The Samsung Galaxy S5S is one of the most recent additions to Samsung’s line-up, making it the first Galaxy phone to include an Exynos 5 Octa SoC. The 5.5-inch display is smaller than the Galaxy S5, but the processor is more powerful and has three times the graphics performance.
