I had to ask friends and family for assistance with my water filter this past weekend. I had to move my water filter to a new location and had to buy a new water filter. I was told that the water filter I have now was designed to only filter for one month before being removed. The filter is a 3-stage filter made by Waterfilters.com and will run for 12 weeks before being removed.
The problem is I also have a 2-stage water filter that I bought from another supplier. It’s made by a third-party water filter company, and it filters my water for a total of 24 weeks before it’s removed. It’s not the same water as the 3-stage filter I’m using, so it’s not the same problem.
I guess my question is what does it actually matter what stage of filtration you use. What does it matter if you have a month-long water filter with a 1-month expiration date. Well, if you have an expired water filter and you use it for 2 weeks, all of a sudden it doesn’t work right. Maybe the filter needs to be replaced. But that just means you have a broken filter, not that the water in your house is completely clean.

Just because you have an expired water filter and your water is dirty, doesn’t mean it’s bad. It just means you use it a little too much and its dirty, that’s all.
Of course, you should never use your water filter more than a few times a week, so you should take it easy. But if you have an expired water filter and you use it for 2 weeks, suddenly it doesnt work right. Maybe the filter needs to be replaced. But that just means you have a broken filter, not that the water in your house is completely clean.
The good news is that most water filters will last between 6 to 12 months, more or less. The bad news is that if you have an expired water filter and you use it for more than 2 weeks, it will probably stop working. And after that, it doesn’t even necessarily mean that your water is completely clean anyway. Instead, its just that your filter needs to be replaced.
The water filter is the only thing that will truly determine the quality of your drinking water. The rest is just water after all.
Just like brushing your teeth, the water filter is supposed to remove the chlorine, pesticides, pathogens, metals, and other contaminants in your drinking water. But it’s also supposed to remove the small molecules that give your water its taste and smell. I don’t think any of us can say if these small molecules are toxic or not. But I can say that they definitely don’t taste great.
Some people have tried to avoid the water filter by buying bottled water, but I dont recommend that. It’s one of those things that has a lot of moving parts and a lot of potential for failure. There has been some research that states that bottled water is better for you than filtered water. Which is a good thing too, because if you want to drink bottled water you need to be careful about how you store it. Although I don’t know much about how bottled water is stored.
