The Samsung refrigerator’s manual doesn’t tell us much of the finer details about what a water filter looks like, but it does tell us that it takes about half an hour to remove the filter, so you should be able to do it in a couple of hours. The manual also doesn’t mention this, so it’s not surprising that it takes so long.
Water filters may seem relatively simple, but they’re actually fairly complex. Most refrigerators come with a filter, but if yours doesn’t, I would suggest changing it. If it’s a manual filter, I would have you call Samsung and ask if they can hook you up with a replacement filter. If it’s a “smart” filter, then you can just use your phone to call Samsung. Either way, though, you have to do the right thing.
The good news is that most refrigerators come with a smart filter. The bad news is that most refrigerator filters are designed for older refrigerator models. The Samsung fridge in my house has a filter that is designed to work with older models. The manual for this refrigerator has a note that says if your refrigerator is newer than, say, the one in my house, that you should use the filter on that one.
I know this because the filter actually says so for the older fridge model that it uses. I’m not sure what the logic is behind that since it makes no sense for the newer refrigerator models to be using a newer filter.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t think that that’s true. I’ve never seen a newer filter on an older refrigerator. It’s either a fake filter or it’s really old (like the one in my house).
The fridge that you are referencing is not that old. In fact, its the one in my house, which uses the original filter. But the reason you dont see the newer filter on a newer refrigerator is because it doesnt make any sense. Why would a newer refrigerator filter use a newer filter? I dont know about you, but the last thing I want to do is have to replace a filter on my old refrigerator with a new filter.
The reason that your refrigerator uses a fake filter is because you have a samsung refrigerator. The filters that you see on Samsung refrigerators are all from a time when they were released before the Samsung fridge was introduced. And because Samsung made its own changes to the brand identity of the Samsung refrigerator and you don’t see the newer filter on a newer Samsung fridge, the old Samsung refrigerator has to be getting the newer filter.
The only reason I’m bringing this up is because Samsung changed the filters on their refrigerators. I don’t know if it’s just me or if the whole Samsung fridge line has changed, but the last time that I checked, Samsung wasn’t changing the filters on fridge’s anymore.
