Thats a good idea, but I can’t imagine going through the trouble of replacing a plastic water filter in my sink every time I use it. But for a single-family home, replacing a single filter is often the best option.
Water filters are not cheap, but they are also not the most complicated to maintain. They look after the three basic things: bacteria, minerals, and chlorine. Some filters may even have some other little things to add but these are most likely not worth the extra cost. The most important thing is to find a filter that does what it is supposed to do.
