I think I have to disagree with you on that. I think the most reliable rv pump out there is the 3 phase rv, and Ive been using it for over a year, so I know how it works. The problem for me is that I cant find a brand that I like that makes a pump that will last as long as the 3 phase rv.

The problem with rv pumps is that when you use one, you have to run it 24/7 in order to maintain their efficiency. In order to reduce maintenance, many of the newer rv models come with a filter. So, if you do run your pump 24/7, it will not only help extend its lifespan, but it will filter the water, too. There is a cost to this though and the cost will depend on your usage.
With that said, the price per filter is relatively low, and you can get a 10 filter pack for about $20 to $30, depending on where you live. The nice thing about a filter is that it filters out most of the chemicals in your water, and you only need to run it when you need it.

If you are concerned about water quality and want to avoid the chemicals you would have to purchase, then you should just stop using a water pump. The pump will filter out all the chemicals but you will still need to purchase a water filter.
